AOV = total revenue ÷ number of orders
What is AOV?
Average order value is the typical amount a customer spends in one checkout. If you made 10,000 from 100 orders, your AOV is 100. It is a simple way to see whether people buy a little or a lot when they purchase.
AOV = total revenue ÷ number of orders
Back to the calculatorWhat is a good AOV?
A good AOV sits at or above what similar stores usually see. Higher is generally better: each order covers more of your ads, shipping, and time. For a jewelry store, 300 can be healthy. For a snack brand, 40 can be healthy too. The number only makes sense next to your category.
What is a low AOV?
A low AOV is not a failure. It means each sale brings in less cash. If your AOV is well below similar stores, you have to win many more checkouts to hit the same revenue, and costs take a bigger bite. That is the warning sign.
A high number is not always better
Do not chase a huge AOV if it scares shoppers away. A 500 AOV with almost no orders can be worse than a 60 AOV with a busy checkout. Watch AOV together with how many people actually buy.

Want a higher AOV?
Bundles, kits, and “buy more, save more” offers are the usual levers. They raise the basket without making the first item feel more expensive.
The cheapest new revenue is already in the cart.
Shoppers already decided to buy. A bundle is the next item in the same box — and the difference is margin.
